I met with a lovely lady for lunch yesterday* - a potential client - to discuss her branding and photography project.
I was eager to get into the details of her new business - oh how I love a blank canvas! I had met her two weeks earlier and already had exciting ideas brewing.
But from the minute we arrived, she had other questions for me — so I’ve decided to write about each of these as separate posts. The first one is ready to read (link below) and I’ll be answering all of these over the coming weeks.
Like a fun mini series you can binge, Netflix style.
I thought it best to do this while my thoughts are fresh from the catch up and I wanted to share my responses with you so you can benefit from them too. Plus a few extra tidbits I wish I’d thought to share with her.
Let’s do this! »
How did you know you were ready to leave your corporate job?
How did you start your business?
What advice do you have for someone wanting to leave their corporate job?
How did you make enough income to replace your salary?
I left the lunch feeling a bit guilty that I talked more than I listened (which is my goal in any meeting or briefing session). But I hope that all the talking I did gave her some confidence, encouragement and inspiration. She has some really big dreams, after all. So big they’re a match for mine. I’ll do anything I can to help her achieve them.
Every day I learn something new. I imagine that as the years pass, my answers to these questions will evolve. Maybe they’ll be even more insightful and considered. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
My ultimate goal has never wavered since 2013 - I want location, time, creative and financial freedom.
I hope these personal posts help you in your own journey to your dream life, however that looks for you.
Love,
Kylie x
*One of the things that makes me happiest is that the better art projects I work on and the better clients I attract - the more my ‘meetings’ take place somewhere beautiful. Like a lazy long lunch on the river with limoncello spritzes! Or a cafe on the Gold Coast with a swim after. And I can’t tell you how many of my prospective clients know that I love a sticky chai latte and ask to meet somewhere I can have one :)
I’m so grateful!
